Dr. Mariateresa (Teri) H. Muñoz is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida International University (FIU), a practicing clinician in speech-language pathology, and a researcher on AAC. She has 32 years of experience using AAC with individuals with complex communication needs as a speech-language pathologist and special education instructor combined. Her areas of interest include augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), aphasia, dementia, early childhood development and intervention, culturally responsive practices, special education, neuromotor speech disorders, and feeding disorders, including Avoidant/Restrictive Feeding Intake Disorder. Dr. Muñoz is the president and founder of a clinical practice St. Therese’s Roses of Hope, Pediatric Center, Inc., a non-profit organization providing evaluative and therapeutic services in speech-language and feeding disorders across the lifespan.
