Associate Director, Multicultural Practices

Andrea N. Pluskota, MS, CCC-SLP (she, her) is an Associate Director, Multicultural Practices in ASHA’s Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA). Before ASHA, she worked as a bilingual (English, Spanish) ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist and owner of a small private practice that provided school and community-based speech-language and literacy services for school-aged children. She has also taught a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses and has undertaken in-depth study of child language and literacy development and disorders, multicultural topics in CSD, and English language teaching and testing. Her role at ASHA focuses on bi/multilingual service delivery, culturally responsive practice, and attention to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in ASHA content, services, and programming. Her work also supports the Minority Student Leadership Program and the identification, recruitment, and retention of bilingual service providers.
