In this session, Autistic SLP Rachel Dorsey explores the formulation of Autistic identity, highlighting identity development as a disabled person. She then discusses barriers to developing that sense of identity and how the field of speech-language pathology may inadvertently contribute to such barriers. Finally, she discusses examples of ways to implement neurodiversity-affirming practice in goal-writing and intervention.
