(POS14) Scaffolding strategies used by teachers during shared book reading

We studied conversations during shared book reading and found that early childhood teachers provided challenges when children answered correctly and support when children answered incorrectly. Scaffolds like recasts, causal effects, predictions, which support early language development, were rarely used. SLPs can encourage teachers to use these key scaffolding strategies.
