(POS33) Using Video Chat as a Tool to Facilitate Preschool Children’s Access to Shared Book Reading

Shared book reading can support early language skills that are foundational to later academic success. However, not all children have access to an adult who can read to them regularly. Video chat reading is an accessible way to promote young children’s literacy and language development and could reduce this disparity.
