(POS35) Volume & Verve: How Cultural Communication Style leads to Classroom Correction with an AAE-speaking Kindergartner

This study illustrated patterns within correction/behavioral warnings (CBWs) from a teacher to an African American kindergartener. Findings showed that the student received a relatively high frequency of CBWs, and that most were directed toward his volume and verve; features associated with the communication style of many African American students.
