(POS04) Discover the Details of Successful AAC/HATS Funding

Have you had a student who needed HATS/AAC, but didn't know where to look for or successfully obtain funding? Have you ever been told to request a "less expensive "device despite the student's needs? This session will explore funding sources and provide support for writing reports for insurance/ Medicaid providers.

Learning Outcomes:

You will be able to:

Describe barriers frequently encountered by SLPs and audiologists when requesting AAC/HATS devices.
Identify approaches for consideration of funding sources, successful team collaboration and parent training.
Explain AT specific terminology for purposes of reports, such as writing evaluation reports and IEPs.
