Dr. Madhavi Meka showed an interest in science from an early age and was very fascinated by the human body and how it worked. She volunteered at school science camps and city health organizations for underserved population. She obtained medical school diploma from the Gandhi Medical College, India in year 2001. She completing general surgery residency at Memorial health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia followed by a 2-year vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.
Dr. Meka is a clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona school of medicine and a vascular surgery attending at the Carl T. Hayden, VA Medical Center. Her scope of practice covers both the open and the endovascular management of all arterial aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral artery disease, chronic venous disease, varicose veins, chronic leg and diabetic foot ulcer, renal access for hemodialysis and port access for chemotherapy.
Dr. Meka is board-certified in vascular surgery and vascular medicine. Dr. Meka’s certification as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) complements her clinical skills with non-invasive vascular ultrasound, which helps provide her patients with highly individualized treatment plans. She is an earlier adopter of endo venous glue ablation for varicose veins. Along with open surgery, radiofrequency ablation, foam sclerotherapy and micro sclerotherapy, she offers a comprehensive range of both open and endovascular interventions for patients with varicose veins.
In her spare time, she enjoys doing projects around the house with her husband and three sons, hiking, and swimming.
