I am a vascular surgeon at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. I am Co-Director of the Columbia Aortic Center, Division Chief of Vascular Surgery at Columbia University, and Associate Professor of Surgery at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. My education includes a dual degree B.A./B.S. from Rutgers University, and an M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine. My surgical residency was completed at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, during which I spent 3 years in the Harvard Longwood Vascular Biology Research Fellowship. This opportunity resulted in several publications in journals including Circulation, Blood and FASEB and receipt of the NIH Loan Repayment award. I completed a clinical vascular surgery fellowship at MGH and stayed on as staff where my duties included clinical patient care, clinical outcomes research, surgical education (medical students, residents, fellows, vascular residents), and administrative duties including membership in several hospital and society committees. My responsibilities as section Chief of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Interventions include development and advancement of a central aortic program, advancement of division clinical outcomes and basic science research, divisional administration, education, and career development of trainees and staff.
