Matteo Montagner

Resident in cardiac surgery at the German Heart Center Berlin, Germany.
I graduated in Italy at the University of Padova and the moved to Germany for my residency in cardiac surgery. Next to the clinical work, I've always been interested in research as a mean to remain updated and offer the most modern therapies to patients. After my thesis on beating heart transapical neochord implantation for mitral regurgitation, I switched to aortic surgery and in particular to the field of acute aortic dissection. The emergency setting and the complexity of many dissection patterns that a surgeon has to face fascinate me and push me to search for new ways to better understand and treat the pathology.
