Resident in Integrated Cardiothoracic Surgery
Stanford University
I am an integrated CT surgery resident currently completing a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Stanford Thoracic Aortic Research Laboratory under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Fischbein. During my first three years of clinical training I developed an interest in surgical management of thoracic aortic disease and genetic conditions predisposing to aortopathy. In 2020 I was awarded a two-year NIH F32 National Research Service Award by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to study aortic smooth muscle cell gene expression changes that contribute to aortic root aneurysm which has led to the publication of multiple first-author papers. I am also interested in the clinical management of patients undergoing complex aortic surgical procedures and in the long term management of patients with aortic dissection.
