Atilla Soran, MD., MPH., FNCBC, FACS is a Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He has a long history of serving as a chair or being a member of many scientific research committees such as The ASBD, The ASCO Breast Cancer Symposium Program, and NCBC International Program. He was appointed as a Board Member the NCBC in 2015 and IC Chair in 2016 and he also serves as a member of other prestigious associations such as the ACS. He has more than 160 publications, over 200 presentations in scientific meetings, and has more than 50 review articles and chapters in textbooks. He has received 38 awards and honors. He is on the editorial board and a reviewer in several medical journals. He was invited to several scientific meetings all over the world as a lecturer and moderator. He has conducted several clinical studies and received grants for his research. He has been recognized as an investigator by the NCI and he has been serving as a DOD- CDMRP as a panel member for more than 10 years; he also initiated several studies internationally. He initiated and has been chairing BHWGI since 2007. He created International TM in 2020. He is world well-known surgeon for the study of surgery for metastatic BC. He presented a Randomized MF07-01 at the SABCS, ASCO, and ASBrS upon invitation. The long-term results of the MF07-01 study added to the literature that LRT is an option in patients with de novo stage IV BC. At UPMC, he established the Multidisciplinary MBC Program for oligometastatic BC. He provides scholarships to international scientists while they are working as research scientists in the USA. He has created a very competitive scholarship in the TNSS. He is currently chairing SIS Education/clinical trial committee, and NCBC abstract committee.
