Andrew Hanna is a PGY-4 General Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with a BA in Neuroscience and Economics from Johns Hopkins University in 2012 and received his MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2016. His research work includes clinical outcomes projects in Foregut surgery as well as Surgical Oncology. He just completed 2 years in the lab of Dr. Ronald DeMatteo working on several projects interogating the immune response to gastrointestinal stromal tract tumors with a focus on next generation bioinformatic aplroaches. He hopes to pursue a career in academic surgical oncology.
