Katie Spielbauer is currently a fourth year otolaryngology resident at the University of Michigan. She earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical science and engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. During medical school she studied pharmacotherapeutic approaches to prevention of cisplatin induced hearing loss at the National Institutes of Health as part of the Medical Research Scholars Program. Her current work under the mentorship of Drs. Mark Cohen and David Zopf investigates novel therapeutics for treatment of melanoma and head and neck cancers.
