Dr. Brittany Murphy is a board-certified breast surgical oncologist at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. She graduated suma cum laude with a double major in ACS Chemistry and Honors Mathematics from Gustavus Adolphus College. She then went on to receive a Master’s Degree in biomedical sciences, along with being inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society, at Colorado State University. From there, she attended Creighton University School of Medicine where she also became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society.
She returned to her home state of Minnesota for her general surgery residency at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. During this time, she dedicated one year to surgical outcomes research, in addition to becoming an instructor in Health Sciences Research and General Surgery. She has published several peer reviewed journal articles and presented at multiple International and National meetings. She received various honors throughout her training including awards for teaching, research, and meticulous patient care.
Following residency, she furthered her training with a breast surgical oncology fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center before starting her career at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Arizona.
