Sara Grossi is the current Breast Surgical Oncology Fellow at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. She completed her General Surgery residency at Loma Linda University and medical school at the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, Florida. She is with a longstanding research interest in molecular genetics and completed research in DNA double strand break repair and homologous recombination while obtaining her undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry and Sociology at UC Davis. She is with a strong interest in quality improvement and patient reported outcomes and has also completed research and numerous quality improvement initiatives to enhance and optimize patient care. Her current clinical research interests include examining data surrounding factors influencing local disease recurrence after neoadjuvant trastuzumab therapy in patients with HER 2 positive tumors, assessing the utilization and prognostic value of PET/CT imaging after local recurrence, and examining the effects of androgen therapy on transgender female-to-male mastectomy tissue via pathology analysis inclusive of receptor studies and immunohistochemistry in patients undergoing gender affirming surgeries.
