Alexander A. Parikh, MD, MPH, FACS, FSSO is the Robert and Penny Barnhill Distinguished Professor of Oncology in Surgery, Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology, and Director of HPB Surgery at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and Vidant Medical Center.

His surgical practice is focused on caring for patients with malignancies and complex diseases of the pancreas, hepatobiliary, and gastrointestinal systems. His primary research interest is in disparities in cancer care and outcomes, particularly as it pertains to health insurance and social determinants of health as well as comparative effectiveness research of multimodality regimens.
