Dr. Karagkounis is a surgical oncologist specializing in colorectal cancer and peritoneal malignancies. Dr. Karagkounis earned his medical degree with honors at the University of Athens School of Medicine in Greece and proceeded to a research fellowship in surgical oncology at Johns Hopkins University. He completed his general surgery residency and a cancer biology research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic and, following that, a clinical fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.
