Associate Professor of Surgery
University of Southern California
Los Angeles, California, United States
I am a surgical oncologist specializing in the multidisciplinary care of patients with breast cancer, melanoma, and other skin cancers. After completing my fellowship in surgical oncology at the John Wayne Cancer Institute, I joined the Division of Surgical Oncology at the Ohio State University where I served for eight years prior to joining the University of Southern California. Throughout my career I have been focused on providing leading edge, multidisciplinary, personalized care to my patients while investigating and introducing new surgical techniques, technologies, and novel treatment paradigms. I had the opportunity to introduce and expand the use of oncoplastic breast conserving surgical techniques and nipple-sparing mastectomy at Ohio State, as well as participate in clinical trials of minimally invasive inguinal lymphadenectomy, IORT boost during oncoplastic breast conserving surgery, de-escalation of surgical therapy, and autologous, tumor lysate pulsed dendritic cell vaccination for patients with high-risk, resected melanoma. I am particularly interested post-graduate medical education, having previously served on the Society of Surgical Oncology Training Committee, and I currently serve as the Program Director for the USC-Hoag Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship. In my current role as Chief of the Division of Breast, Endocrine and Soft Tissue Surgery at USC, I have enjoyed leading a collegial, mutually supportive group of faculty with a passion for excellence, as well as building and growing disease-specific multidisciplinary cancer programs for our health system.
I do not have any relevant financial / non-financial relationships with any proprietary interests.
