Pamela Daher, MD currently serves as an assistant professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, focusing on both benign and malignant anorectal and colorectal pathology, with a special interest in rectal cancer and sphincter preserving treatment for low rectal cancers. Dr. Daher trained at Duke University as well as the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. She completed her surgical training at the Dell School of Medicine at the University of Texas in Austin and her colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Daher's research interests include opioid prescribing patterns and their effect on colorectal surgical outcomes, factors affecting return of bowel function after colorectal surgery and possible therapeutic modalities to avoid post operative ileus and expedite return of bowel function. Dr. Daher is a member and serves on committees for the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology. She is currently a candidate fellow for the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Daher is board certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery.
