I am currently Associated Member in the Sarcoma Department at Moffitt Cancer Center and have an appointment as Associate Professor of Oncologic Sciences at Morsani College of Medicine at University of South Florida. I am also Clinical Research Medical Director in the Sarcoma Department at Moffitt Cancer Center in charge with the development of the sarcoma clinical trials portfolio.
I am a Cancer Center Support Group Member (CCSG) in the Immunology Program at Moffitt Cancer Center.
I am member of several International and National Research Committees: Trans-Atlantic Australian Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group(TARPSW) Clinical Trials Committee, SWOG Early Therapeutics and Rare Cancers Committee, Sarcoma Working Group, ECOG-ACRIN Sarcoma Group Clinical Trials Committee and International Research Roundtable Leiomyosarcoma collaborative group Clinical Trials Committee
I was selected to participate to the inaugural International Leadership Academy, SITC Women in Immunotherapy Leadership Institute in 2019.
I am member of several Professional Associations such as ASCO, SITC, AACR, and CTOS.
I completed my medical degree at University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila, Romania. I went to complete an Internal Medicine Residency and Hematology/Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of South Florida at Moffitt Cancer Center. I did an extra-training by completing a Sarcoma Medical Oncology Fellowship (Willie Tichenor Sarcoma Fellowship) at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
I am a medical oncologist interested in improving the care and outcomes of patients with sarcomas. My areas of focus are clinical care of patients with sarcoma, conducting and developing clinical trials that will improve their outcome and immunotherapy approach in the treatment of sarcomas. My research interest is in the development of clinical trials focusing on targeted therapeutics specific to sarcoma patients.
