I am a neuro-oncologist and completed my neurology residency training at the New York Presbyterian Hospital — Weill Cornell and a subsequently, neuro-oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. For over 3 years, I was an attending physician and investigator at the NIH Neuro-oncology Branch, a trans-institute branch of the National Cancer Institute and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, in Bethesda, MD. At the intramural NIH, I was a principal investigator in early phase clinical trials for brain tumors and worked with laboratory and computational scientists in several translational projects aimed at treating brain tumors. My clinical expertise is in the diagnosis, management and treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors as well as neurological complications of cancer. My research interests are focused on brain tumors, specifically glioblastoma in the aging population, and immunotherapies for gliomas. I recently completed a clinical trial aimed at treating elderly patients from The Paul A. Marks Scholars Fund. In addition, as the Deputy Director of the Neuro-oncology Division at Columbia University, I have developed the clinical and translational research components of the division, designing and implementing trials for glioblastoma patients through my industry and academic collaborations. I am the Clinical Director of Brain Tumor Research at Columbia. I current lead a national multicenter study of nivolumab for recurrent IDH mutant gliomas and a phase 3 clinical for methylated MGMT promoter GBM through the NRG Oncology. I am the Principal Investigator and Leader of the Roche Genentech imCORE (a Global Network of Cancer Immunotherapy Centers of Excellence) at Columbia and have led several immunotherapy trial for gliomas.
