The overreaching goal of our lab is to improve the prognosis of patients with high-risk pediatric brain tumors. To this end, we integrate clinical and lab-based research to develop tumor-targeted oncolytic adenoviruses with the capacity to elicit a therapeutic immune response in those tumors. Our research uses novel and relevant models to accomplish the experimental aims. Of clinical importance, our research has helped to leverage a clinical trial phase I with the oncolytic adenovirus DNX2401 for naïve DIPG tumors. We have published extensively and have received continuous funding from prestigious institutions such as the European Research Council or the Department of Defense USA.
