Dr. Lia Halasz is an associate professor in the Departments of Radiation Oncology and Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington, and co-medical director of the UW Alvord Brain Tumor Center, part of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. She specializes in the care of patients with brain and spinal cord tumors. Her research centers on advanced radiation technologies such as proton therapy, as well the health disparities surrounding their use. Dr. Halasz has a strong interest in education and mentoring, serving as the program director for the UW Radiation Oncology residency. She has previously served as an associate editor for the cental nervous system section of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics and the vice chair for the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) guidelines subcommittee for IDH mutant diffuse glioma.
