Dr. Ali Bashashati (PhD) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia as well as the Director of AI Research in OVCARE (BC Cancer). He is currently leading British Columbia's Translational Digital Pathology AI Initiative. His research area lies at the interface between computational, engineering and biomedical sciences. He is interested in developing machine learning algorithms and software infrastructure to integrate various sources of omics and imaging data. He has published extensively in cancer genomics, bioinformatics and computational biology and his papers have appeared in top-tier journals such as Nature, Nature Genetics and Nature Medicine.
