Yang Liu, Ph.D., is currently working at Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB) of NCI as a postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Yang Liu received his Philosophy Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Immunology with a focus on cancer immunology from Peking University in 2015. At PKU, he was focusing on the role of immunoglobulin in the transformation and development of cancer or other malignant diseases. In 2016, He joined Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB) of NCI as a postdoctoral fellow. He was in the molecular and cellular biology section under the supervise of Dr. Chunzhang Yang. His research is focusing on the role of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutation in glioma and its impact on cell metabolism, DNA repair, redox balance, and oxidative stress. Recently, He is interested in the Nrf2 anti-oxidative pathway as a potential therapeutic target for high Reactive oxygen species (ROS) generating cancers, such as glioma with IDH1 mutation, and trying to explore new therapeutic approach for IDH1 mutated malignancy.
