Abigail K. Suwala, M.D. is a resident in the Neuropathology department at the University hospital in Heidelberg and a clinical researcher at DKFZ. She is currently also working as a postdoc at Joe Costello's lab at UCSF. During her medical studies at the University hospital in Düsseldorf she was writing her doctoral thesis, partly in the Neuropathology department at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, on novel therapies targeting glioma stem cells. Her research focus lies on genetic and epigenetic alterations in malignant gliomas.
