Luz is a second-year graduate student in the Ayad lab and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Tumor Biology at Georgetown University. During her undergraduate education, she obtained her B.S. in Biology at St. Thomas University. Moreover, she has completed one year at the University of Miami in the Ph.D. program of Human Genetics and Genomics. Her current research aims to identify potential compounds to target Medulloblastoma using bioinformatics approaches. Outside of research, her interests include volunteering at non-profit organizations, STEM outreach, and learning new languages. She is currently the president of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee on the graduate campus and wishes to continue advocating for minority and underserved populations.
