Nannan Li is a postdoctoral scientist in the O'Rourke/Binder lab at the University of Pennsylvania. She obtained her medical degree in China and is currently pursuing her neurosurgery Ph.D. at Harbin Medical University.
She developed a strong interest in neurosurgery during master period and learned intraoperative neuromonitoring techniques. Intraoperative monitoring was performed for hundreds of patients with functional neurological diseases and brain tumors, which greatly reduced the occurrence of postoperative complications.
In order to learn better and become an excellent neurosurgeon, she applied for a professional doctorate in neurosurgery; and conducted clinical training in the functional area of neurosurgery. During this period, her outstanding performance was recommended by her advisor Prof. Zhiguo Lin to the O'Rourke/Binder laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania.
At present, as a postdoctoral fellow, her main research direction is the immunotherapy of glioblastoma. The bicistronic CAR-T cells made by her team are advancing to clinical trials, and she is also working hard to add more new ideas to this excellent product.
