Dr. Haipeng Tao joined the faculty of the University of Florida in 2022 as an Assistant Scientist in the Department of Neurosurgery. He earned a medical degree from Harbin Medical University in Harbin, China in 2021. While at Harbin, his main research areas were Immunotherapy for Glioma, an approach that stimulates the patients’ own immune system to attack cancer cells. And Brain tumor Neurosurgery.
Beginning in 2017, Dr. Tao became a Research Scholar Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery, the University of Florida, and in 2021 a Postdoctoral Associate at Dr. Jianping Huang Brain Tumor Immunotherapy Program. In April 2022, He was promoted to an Assistant Scientist.
Dr. Tao has focused on cancer immunotherapy and clinical trials of 8R-CART cells. His extensive expertise in cellular biology T cell and Macrophage studies help to explore immunotherapy for cancer and the development of novel strategies. His research interests are novel immune checkpoint blockade for brain tumors.
