MD Anderson Cancer Center
Houston, United States
My name is Ben Whitfield and I'm currently a 6th year (MS3GS3) MD/PhD student in the MD Anderson and UT Health Science Center at Houston MSTP. I am currently studying the immunologic impact of ATRX deficiency in low and high grade gliomas. My long-term career goal is to become a physician-scientist specializing in neuro-oncology and studying tumor biology. Specifically, I hope to study how tumor intrinsic properties impact the efficacy of approved therapies, thereby enabling better therapeutic selection and improving response rates. Outside of work I am a husband, an avid board game player, and an avid disc golf player on the 3 weekends a year that Houston weather allows dry, outdoor activity.
