Dr. Vladimir Ljubimov, MD is a 7th-year Neurosurgery resident at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He graduated from the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine
Dr. Ljubimov has been working on developing novel brain tumor resection models, surgically removing implanted tumors from animals to see how the tumor microenvironment changes upon resection and to build a model closer to clinical conditions post-resection. In parallel, he created in vivo model with de novo genetically modified tumors that can be induced to allow the immune system to recognize them and examine how that affects the tumor microenvironment. He is also involved in numerous clinical projects.
Dr. Ljubimov has previously and presently done extensive research in the field of nanomedicine, targeted imaging, and immunotherapy for CNS tumors, and pituitary tumor physiology. I have publications in high-impact journals such as PNAS, Nature Communications, Cancer Research, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, and ACS Nano.
After completion of residency, he will be pursuing a skull base neurosurgical fellowship at Stanford University under Dr. Fernandez-Miranda.
