My name is FNU Shivakant Ph.D., a research scientist at Beaumont Health, Michigan, U.S.A working in the field of tumor metabolism. The primary focus of my research, which I have been leading, is to identify, mechanistically define, and therapeutically target aberrant metabolic programs and associated signaling pathways that drive the aggressive phenotype of tumors. Using my expertise in generating transcriptomics data with microarray and integrating these with global metabolomics data, I have identified intra-tumoral heterogeneity and dynamic metabolic programs in patient-derived tumors. This allows the tumors to adapt and proliferate under diverse microenvironmental conditions.
