Hannes Becker is currently a resident at the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital Tübingen. He also works as a Clinician Scientist in the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Neurooncology at the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research and is supported by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation. His research focus relies on translational glioma-associated microenvironmental treatment approaches.
He successfully completed his medical studies at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in 2021 and meanwhile spent a semester abroad at the Université d'Aix-Marseille in 2019.
From 2017 to 2022, he was a medical doctoral student in the laboratory and investigated the topic "Targeting the glioma associated microenvironment in experimental glioma". This resulted in parts of the work being published in the journal Cancers in 2021. As part of his dissertation, he completed the IZKF doctoral program and was a recipient of the Sigmund Kiener Fellowship. During his studies, he was also a scholarship holder of the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst.
