Dr. Sheila Mansouri is a Staff Scientist in Dr. Gelareh Zadeh's lab, working on a number of genomic projects focused on central and peripheral nervous system tumors aiming to decipher novel prognostic and predictive biomarkers. In addition, she is conducting several functional studies focused on understanding the role of the tumor microenvironment playing a role in the central and peripheral nervous system tumors' aggressiveness and response to therapy. She completed her Ph.D. at York University in Toronto on antiviral agents targetting HIV-1 and HTLV-1. Dr. Mansouri's post-doctoral training was completed at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Lori Frappier, where she focused on the miRNAs regulating the EBV life-cycle. Dr. Mansouri has authored more than 34 peer-reviewed manuscripts and presented her work at more than 15 international conferences worldwide. She has also contributed to many grant applications that have resulted in significant funding from foundations and government agencies in Canada and the US.
