I am a neurosurgeon currently working at Severance Hospital at Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea where I perform glioma-related surgery and translational research. Since 2000, when I became a neurosurgeon, I began research on GBM and progressed little by little. Recently we were able to prove GBM origin site is SVZ. The cell of origin of GBM is not the place of tumor, but the SVZ. Currently, we are focusing on the therapeutic approach using this knowledge and finding more detailed biological causes.
