Samuel McBrayer, PhD is an assistant professor in the Children's Medical Center Research Institute and Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Baylor University and Ph.D. in cancer biology from Northwestern University. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. William Kaelin's laboratory at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty. The McBrayer laboratory seeks to understand how metabolism controls cell fate and cell function in brain tumors and to translate new insights into the development of therapeutic strategies to treat these cancers.
