My name is Toral Patel and I am an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I am a neurosurgical oncologist and I devote the majority of my effort to treating patients with malignant gliomas. I have a high-volume clinical practice and perform >250 brain tumor operations each year. My research efforts have focused on the development of novel drug delivery strategies for the treatment of malignant brain tumors. I also have a significant interest in better understanding the metabolic profile of glial neoplasms. I have been a successful collaborator on several translational research projects.

I am also the Director of the UT Southwestern Brain Tumor Program. In this role, I supervise the clinical services for neuro-oncology patients at UT Southwestern. Additionally, I am responsible for integrating academic and research activities with the clinical enterprise. I am the director of the weekly UT Southwestern Neuro-Oncology Tumor Board and I am a member of the UT Southwestern Cancer Committee and Neuro DOT (Disease-Oriented Team). I am also the director of the UT Southwestern Multi-Disciplinary Neuro-Oncology Clinic.
