I am a PGY-4 resident physican and clinican-scientist in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University School of Medicine in Munich, Germany. I completed my MD/DSc (Dr. med) degree at the Saarland University School of Medicine between 2012-2019, and was a visiting medical student and postgraduate researcher at the Yale School of Medicine, the Harvard Medical School, and various other medical schools in Europe. I still have strong ties to the Yale School of Medicine (Prof. Joachim Baehring) and the Harvard Medical School (Prof. Joerg Dietrich). My basic research interests include novel therapies (particularly CAR T-cells or TAM/M-depleting agents) for primary and secondary CNS malignancies, and I am particularly interested in translating such therapeutic interventions into local approaches (and for this purpose, I currently characterize the side effects of novel immunotherapeutics to the brain). In this context, I am also strongly involved in the RANO resect group where we study the association between extent of surgical tumor resection and outcome. Here, I am working under mentorship of Prof. Joerg-Christian Tonn and Prof. Dr. Louisa von Baumgarten.
