Dr. Andy G. S. Daniel, PhD is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Daniel obtained his BS in Biomedical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and his MS and PhD degrees, also in Biomedical Engineering, from Washington University in St. Louis. His current research focuses on understanding the influence of gliomas on modulating local neuronal excitability and the resultant impact on cognition. By combining behavioral, circuit-level, and cell biology approaches, Dr. Daniel aims to characterize tumor-microenvironment interactions responsible for neurologic deficits to provide a framework for improving clinical recovery. Dr. Daniel is a recipient of the Postdoctoral Fellowship in Translational Medicine from the PhRMA Foundation.
