The Arthur and Sonia Labatt Brain Tumor Research Center, The Hospital for Sick Children

I am a recent PhD graduate from the Hospital for Sick Children, supervised by Dr. Michael Taylor. My research project mainly revolved around utilizing multiomics data sets, particularly those interrogating epigenetic and transcriptional landscapes, to better understand pathobiology underlying paediatric brain tumor oncogenesis. Throughout my training, I developed strong interests in cancer biology, genomics, bioinformatics and functional genomics.
Work from my PhD led to seminal discoveries uncovering pathogenic epigenetic alterations affecting expression of Medulloblastoma driver genes, as well as identification of novel 3D genomic configurations uniquely decorating the epigenome of Posterior Fossa Ependymoma type A. Both of these works will be presented as oral abstracts at the SNO 2022 annual meeting.
Having trained in both experimental biology as well as bioinformatics, I have a long term interest in managing a research group that utilizes high throughput technologies at the single cell level to interrogate cellular crosstalks, particularly in the context of cancer biology or immunology, and validate the findings through functional genomics and/or mouse model approaches.
