Elias Sayour, MD, PhD is a board-certified pediatric oncologist and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Pediatrics who functions as Program Co-leader of the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) Cancer Therapeutics and Host Response (CTHR) Program and Director of the Pediatric Cancer Immunotherapy Initiative (PCI2). Dr. Sayour is an NIH funded investigator with extensive translational experience having served as sponsor of multiple FDA-IND submissions (BB-19304, BB-20871) and as PI/Study Chair on first-in-human clinical trials (NCT03334305, NCT04573140). He serves as institutional PI for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium (PBTC) and Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium (PNOC) allowing him to coordinate both UF and national resources to advance promising therapeutics, clinical trials, and facilitate cross-programmatic working groups between basic scientists and clinical investigators. As a physician-scientist, Dr. Sayour serves as principal investigator of the RNA Engineering Laboratory where he has been the primary inventor on a number of pending patent applications concerning the immunologic treatment of cancer. He has received a number of prestigious awards for his research including the ASPHO Young Investigator Award, ABTA Discovery Award, and recognition as a University of Florida Term Professor.
