Marius M. Mader, MD, is a postdoctoral research fellow with Prof. Marius Wernig at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He received his MD from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, where he also completed his doctoral thesis with Prof. Oliver Kempski at the Institute for Neurosurgical Pathophysiology. In 2015, he started his residency with Prof. Manfred Westphal at the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany, where he conducted clinical and translational research related to neuro-oncology and neurocritical care. His current research is focused on microglia biology and manipulation of the CNS myeloid niche in the context of neuroinflammation and brain malignancies.
