Dr. Manmeet Ahluwalia is the Deputy Director, Chief of Medical Oncology, Chief Scientific Officer, Miami Cancer Institute, Miami, Florida, Previously, he was the Dean and Diane Miller Family Endowed Chair in Neuro-Oncology in the Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center (BBTC), Cleveland Clinic, where he subspecialized in treatment of patients with brain tumors and brain metastases. He was also a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
After receiving his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi, India, Dr. Ahluwalia underwent residency training in internal medicine at Fairview Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Health System, and completed fellowship training in hematology/oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, University of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York.
Dr. Ahluwalia's research focuses on the development of new therapies for patients with brain tumors and brain metastases. He is currently leading several clinical trials involving new targeted therapies as well immunotherapeutic approaches. His research has been presented nationally and internationally and has resulted in over 250 editorials, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and book chapters.
Dr. Ahluwalia has served in multiple leadership positions in the professional societies. He serves in editorial capacities for several journals and has been recipient of several prestigious awards such the National Cancer Institute/ CTEP Career Development Award for Clinical Trial in American Brain Tumor Consortium (ABTC), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Leadership Development Program award, Crain’s 40 Under 40 award and has been nominated to the Leading in Healthcare, Cleveland Clinic.
