Joerg Christian Tonn serves since 2001 as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich (Campus Großhadern). His primary research and clinical interests relate to surgical neurooncology with focus on translational aspects of molecular neurooncology, techniques of local tumor treatment as well as conceptual combinations of different treatment modalities in brain and skull-base tumors. His work also includes integration of molecular imaging, such as PET-CT, into surgical and neuro-oncological decision making.
