I'm an MD/PhD student at the Penn State College of Medicine studying the tumor microenvironment and iron metabolism in glioblastoma. I am especially interested in macrophages and the role they play in establishing the tumor microenvironment. As immune cells that make up large portions of solid tumors and control multiple aspects of tumor growth, learning more about these cells could provide insights into developing improved anti-cancer therapies.
