Dr. Jaishri Blakeley is the Marjorie Bloomberg Tiven Professor of Neurofibromatosis in Neurology, Oncology and Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, director of the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Neurofibromatosis Center and director of the Neurofibromatosis Therapeutic Acceleration Program (NTAP). Dr. Blakeley is also an active member of the Department of Defense Neurofibromatosis Clinical Trials Consortium and the Adult Brain Tumor Consortium, an executive committee member of the Response Endpoints in Neurofibromatosis and Schwannomatosis International Consortia (REiNS) and the prior chair of the Neuro-Oncology Section of the American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Blakeley invests in mentoring the next generation of physician scientists through the NTAP Francis Collins Scholars Program, prior director of the UCNS Neuro-Oncology training program at Hopkins and as a co-chair of the SNO Career Development and Training Committee. Dr. Blakeley’s research expertise is in the development of clinical trials for nervous system tumors and specifically, early clinical-translational studies including tumor pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic investigations, imaging biomarkers and incorporation of patient focused, functional endpoints in efficacy studies. These efforts are all in the service of improving the outcomes for the patients for whom Dr. Blakeley is honored to provide care for as an active clinician. She has been recognized for her patient care and her scientific contributions with several awards including the Society for Neuro-Oncology Women in Neuro-Oncology Mid-Career Exemplary Physician Award, American Academy of Neurology 2020 Neuro-oncology Scientific Award and the 2022 Children’s Tumor Foundation’s Friedrich von Recklinghausen Award.
