Jami L. Saloman, PhD is an assistant professor of medicine and neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh where she is a member of both the Hillman Cancer Center and the Pittsburgh Center for Pain Research. Dr. Saloman's lab broadly focuses on peripheral nervous system function and nociception, with a particular interest in neural regulation of tumorigenesis, anti-tumor immunity and cancer pain. The Saloman lab's current research has focuses in neurobiology of pain and cancer, biomarker work, and the development of novel rodent and non-human primate models of pancreas disease. She has made important contributions to the field of cancer neuroscience. She utilizes a variety of approaches ranging from in vitro studies of isolated cells and co-cultures to in vivo assays of neuro-immune interactions in the tumor microenvironment.
