Dr. Tessa DesRochers, PhD is the Chief Scientific Officer at KIYATEC Inc., an ex vivo 3D cell culture company pioneering methods to accurately predict individual cancer patients’ response to drugs through translational applications of their advanced 3D cell culture technologies. She has over 15 years of experience combining biology and engineering to develop 3D models of human tissue, including numerous solid tumor models such as Glioblastoma. Her solid tumor models have been utilized to understand microenvironmental impacts on tumor progression and to predict response to therapies in both the preclinical, developmental research setting and in KIYATEC’s current 3D-PREDICT clinical trial. Dr. DesRochers holds a doctorate from Tufts University’s Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences in cell, molecular, and developmental biology. Her postdoctoral training included a year at Children’s Hospital in Boston and subsequent training in biomedical engineering in the lab of Dr. David Kaplan at Tufts University. Tessa is committed to the development of 3D tissues as better models of human development and disease.
