Stephen Sherman, Director of Research & Data, joined Philanthropy Southeast in 2017 as Research & Data Manager and was named to his current role in 2020. Previously, he worked with the Foundation Center (now Candid), including serving as Atlanta Lead. In this role, he was responsible for conducting outreach and training within the local nonprofit community, providing in-depth resource consultations for patrons, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Atlanta library/learning center.
Stephen has held leadership roles in the Special Libraries Association-Georgia Chapter and Georgia Library Association. He enjoys volunteering with a number of other local professional groups and nonprofits. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in library science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
